Eversheds Sutherland Welcomes Back David Phillips as Corporate Partner in Atlanta, Enhancing M&A and Corporate Governance Capabilities

A highly sought after transactional and corporate governance attorney with significant in-house experience, Mr. Phillips will support clients in their complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, capital formation, joint ventures, debt and equity restructurings and securities offerings.

Mr. Phillips returns to Eversheds Sutherland after serving as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Argos North America Corp., a heavy construction materials manufacturer, where he played a crucial role in all legal aspects of its dual IPO and M&A sale process. He previously practiced as a partner at Eversheds Sutherland from 2017 to 2023.

His experience of more than 25 years in private practice, combined with his service in senior legal officer roles, provides him with both broad legal knowledge and a unique ability to understand the legal needs of the firm’s clients.

Mr. Phillips has led transactions spanning many industries, including building products, chemicals, financial technology, communications, SaaS, media and consumer products. He also regularly represents private equity funds in their portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2017, Mr. Phillips served as Deputy General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for a NYSE-listed manufacturer of chemicals and building products, and before that, he was a partner at another major international law firm.
