Eversheds Sutherland advises Blue Ocean Capital on the sale of Datacenter One

Eversheds Sutherland has advised one of the founding shareholders, Blue Ocean Capital GmbH, on the sale of Datacenter One GmbH to the pan-European data centre provider AtlasEdge. For Datacenter One, the sale constitutes another step towards the development of new sites. The execution of the transaction is still subject to the consent of the competent authorities.

Datacenter One, which was founded in 2016, operates several data centres at various locations in Germany. In addition, the company plans and builds turnkey data centres with a minimum rental area of 500 m2. The data centre operator, which is headquartered in Stuttgart, had been bought by STAR Capital Partnership LLP with a majority share in 2016. Eversheds Sutherland already advised Blue Ocean Capital in 2016 when the investor joined Datacenter One.

STAR Capital was founded in 1999 and is a specialised private equity manager with a focus on "asset-based" companies in Western Europe.
