Eversheds Sutherland Deepens Corporate Crime and Investigations Practice Bench with Counsel Jennifer DianaSeptember 10, 2024 NEW YORK – Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce Jennifer Diana has joined the firm’s Corporate Crime and Investigations Practice as Counsel. She will assist clients on all aspects of white-collar disputes and government investigations with a focus on the financial services sector. She joins the firm after a 9.5-year tenure at Standard Chartered Bank, where she was Senior Legal Counsel managing disputes and government investigations. With nearly two decades of corporate crime and investigations experience, half of which was spent in-house, Ms. Diana will leverage her prior practice to help clients navigate through significant government investigations and regulatory enforcement matters involving global regulators, law enforcement bodies and competition authorities. She regularly handles sensitive internal and cross-border investigations, develops case strategies and interfaces with key stakeholders on matters, including regulators. “I am so thrilled to welcome Jennifer to the firm. Her arrival deepens our white-collar bench and ability to support companies and individuals in tackling complicated investigations of all shapes and sizes,” said Sarah E. Paul, Partner and Co-Global Head of Corporate Crime and Investigations. “Her knowledge of the regulatory landscape and in-house experience navigating sensitive banking matters will be a tremendous asset to our clients.” Ms. Diana understands the particular challenges corporations face during investigations and will draw from her experience as in-house counsel to provide relevant and practical advice, proactively identify and manage risk, incorporate lessons learned and assist with translating regulatory guidance and expectations into effective policies and controls. “I am very excited to join Eversheds Sutherland’s team and embark on this next chapter of my career,” said Ms. Diana. “The firm’s global reach, practice depth and breadth, and commitment to diversity drew me in, as did their focus on growth in the area of white-collar crime, specifically for financial institutions. I believe my time in-house at Standard Chartered will be a great asset for clients as I help guide them through the ever-changing policies and government scrutiny that impacts their business’ operations.” Ms. Diana will also be advising clients on issues related to money laundering, sanctions, bribery, fraud, anti-competitive conduct, ESG, subpoena compliance, cross-border data issues, public-private partnerships and corporate compliance. Last year, as a part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its Corporate Crime and Investigations capabilities, Eversheds Sutherland brought on Partners Patrick Gilman and Jeff Cottle, who also focus on National Security matters.
