Eversheds Sutherland helps power ILOS Energy’s solar portfolio in IrelandDecember 04, 2025 Eversheds Sutherland has advised German energy company ILOS Energy (ILOS) on all commercial, energy and real estate matters with respect to the construction and project financing of a 217MWp solar portfolio financing facility in Co. Cork with Danske Bank as project finance lender. ILOS is an Independent Power Producer focused on solar PV projects across Europe and committed to renewable energy and sustainable development. The new 500-acre solar farm began in April and has been progressing with its partner, Soleire Renewables. The solar farm will eventually be able to produce enough energy to provide 39,000 homes with electricity and will be constructed over the coming year. This latest transaction is the second such completion this year for ILOS Energy following the project financing of its first Irish portfolio earlier this year in Co. Tipperary (220MWp), on which Eversheds Sutherland also advised. The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Energy & Infrastructure Partner Seán Scally, supported by Of Counsel Pranav Nanda, Associates Cal Lynn and Ciara O’Keefee and Of Counsel Ciara Gunning, Associates Morgan Moriarty and Gillian Blanche (Real Estate). Together, these projects represent ILOS Energy’s expansion into Ireland and reinforce its position as a leader in the European renewable energy sector. Seán Scally, Partner, commented: “We are delighted to have supported our client on this portfolio. Advising ILOS Energy on their entry into the Irish market has been a privilege, and we look forward to collaborating with them on future projects!” Mark Varian, Managing Director, ILOS Energy in Ireland, commented: “This transaction marks an important step in ILOS Energy’s growth strategy in Ireland and underpins our long-term vision for renewable power. Having been guided by Eversheds Sutherland on our first Irish portfolio earlier this year, we have developed a strong and trusted relationship that continues to deliver exceptional results. Their clarity of advice, commercial acumen, and unwavering commitment to excellence make them an indispensable legal adviser as we navigate complex transactions and scale our operations.” Key contacts
