Eversheds Sutherland Continues Litigation Growth with Addition of Securities Enforcement Partner Ellen ConnellMarch 02, 2026 WASHINGTON | Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that Ellen Connell has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Practice Group, strengthening its securities enforcement capabilities in complex, high‑stakes regulatory investigations. Based in the Washington, DC office, Ms. Connell’s arrival deepens the firm’s securities enforcement and global investigations bench and underscores its continued investment in sophisticated, high‑demand litigation matters. Ms. Connell represents regulated entities and individuals in investigations and enforcement proceedings before the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), FINRA, and state attorneys general, with particular experience advising broker‑dealers and investment advisers. “I’m excited to welcome Ellen to the firm. She brings the hands‑on enforcement experience our clients demand, along with a proven ability to navigate the complexity of large‑scale regulatory investigations,” said Lino Mendiola, Global Co‑CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland. “Her practice further strengthens our securities enforcement and global investigations capabilities and enhances our ability to support clients facing significant regulatory challenges.” Ms. Connell has represented clients in some of the most significant investigations impacting the securities industry. In addition to securities enforcement, her practice also complements the firm’s expanding Corporate Crimes and Investigations offering, which supports clients navigating multijurisdictional enforcement and compliance challenges. “Ellen is a strategic addition to our global litigation team and reflects our continued focus on building a deep, market‑leading platform,” said Michael Bahar and Olga Greenberg, Co-Heads of Global Litigation. “She brings deep experience handling regulatory investigations in the financial services industry, and her arrival enhances our ability to support clients facing increasingly coordinated, multiagency enforcement actions in the US and abroad.” Ms. Connell’s addition builds on the firm’s recent litigation momentum, including the arrival of Peter Meier, a seasoned trial lawyer who joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office earlier this year as part of Eversheds Sutherland’s continued expansion of its US litigation platform. Along with 16 other attorneys in the past seven months, these hires underscore the firm’s commitment to growing its bench in sophisticated, high-stakes disputes and regulatory matters with preeminent practitioners. “I’m excited to join Eversheds Sutherland at a time of such strong momentum for the firm’s litigation and securities enforcement practices,” Ms. Connell said. “The firm’s collaborative, global platform and its commitment to client service create a compelling opportunity to build my practice while delivering seamless support to clients facing complex regulatory and enforcement issues.” Latest Insights
