Countdown to Paradise begins: Eversheds Sutherland takes possession of new Birmingham home

The countdown to Eversheds Sutherland's move into Three Chamberlain Square has begun, with the firm officially taking possession of its new Birmingham home ahead of a planned summer 2027 relocation.

 

The global law firm will relocate its 500-strong Birmingham team across two floors of the award-winning premises, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to the city, whilst creating a future-focused workplace designed around collaboration, wellbeing and client experience.

 

The move represents a significant investment in both people and place by Eversheds Sutherland whose roots in Birmingham stretch back more than 100 years.

 

Part of the Paradise estate in the heart of Birmingham city centre, Three Chamberlain Square is widely recognised as the city's most sustainable commercial office building. Designed by award-winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) and constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine, the building has secured a range of leading sustainability and environmental credentials, including BREEAM Outstanding, NABERS 5-Star, and ActiveScore and WiredScore Platinum certifications.

 

The 189,000 sq ft building was fully let within months of practical completion in summer 2025 and is already home to CBRE and Forvis Mazars, while EY is currently fitting out its space.

 

The development showcases the latest in sustainable building design and innovation, underlining the commitment of Paradise and Federated Hermes MEPC to deliver pioneering low-carbon commercial space in Birmingham.

The Birmingham move forms part of Eversheds Sutherland's ongoing investment across its international office network, ensuring its workplaces continue to support colleagues, clients and the communities in which the firm operates.

 

As work begins on creating its new Birmingham home, the firm will now focus on transforming the space ahead of its planned move in summer 2027.

 

Earlier this year, Eversheds Sutherland (International) announced 25 partner promotions. The latest round of promotions included five Midlands-based lawyers, underlining the firm’s ongoing investment in its UK regional practices. Those promoted were Thomas Plant and Rob Worsfold (both Corporate, Birmingham), James Ellis (Pensions, Birmingham), Ray Hetherington (Construction, Birmingham) and Lisa Highet (Commercial, Nottingham).
