Ayanda focuses on commercial and insurance litigation with special emphasis on directors’ and officers’ liability, product liability, professional liability, construction and engineering, trade credit and guarantees.

Some of Ayanda's experience includes:
- Representing several insureds against insurers for recovery of losses suffered as a result of business interruption in connection with the outbreak of COVID-19 and government response thereto.
- Successfully represented an insured in a complex engineering indemnification dispute between the insured, primary/underlying insurer and a special risks insurer arising from total loss/damage of the insured’s equipment at third-party premises.
- Representing a prominent specialist property law firm in damages claim instituted by a third party as a result of failed property transactions between the third party and developer of The Leonardo. The insured acted as the transferring attorneys in The Leonardo development scheme.
Ayanda has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in South Africa 2024 for his outstanding work in insurance law.
He holds a BA and LLB degree from the University of Witwatersrand. He later obtained a Certificate of Competence for Advanced Company Law I & II. Ayanda has over 17 years of experience.
