Mared Griffiths advises clients in the private and public sector, with respect to a broad range of employment and pensions matters.
Her contentious experience includes representing a range of clients on a variety of unfair, wrongful dismissal and discrimination claims. Mared has also advised on a complex holiday pay dispute.
With respect to non-contentious employment work, she regularly advises on transactions. Mared has also advised a number of private and public sector clients on the application of TUPE and consultation requirements. She also regularly advises clients in relation to day-to-day HR matters, such as managing grievance procedures and sickness absence.
Mared works on both pensions and employment matters, and is therefore able to provide input and guidance on any relevant employment law issues when advising employers and trustees in respect of pension schemes and pensions law compliance.
She regularly drafts deeds of amendment and governance documentation in respect of schemes, and advises trustees on member benefit issues. Mared was part of the team that advised on the sectionalization of a £17bn pension scheme and undertook a key role in drafting a consolidation of a complex defined benefit pension scheme. She has also completed a secondment where she assisted on a rules assurance project for a defined benefit scheme to ensure that the scheme rules were administered in accordance with the scheme rules and legislative requirements.
Mared also advises on member consultations, communication strategies and auto-enrollment compliance.
