The competitive tender process saw Global awarded the contract to manage advertising across TfL’s rail and underground estate, with JCDecaux appointed to manage advertising across TfL’s bus shelters estate. Each contract will commence on 1 April 2025 and be provided for eight years, with TfL having the option to extend them for up to a further two years. The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Kelly Holmes, Strategic Contracts Partner and Deputy Client Partner to TfL, and Mike Turner, a Strategic Contracts Partner specialising in the Transport sector. The core team comprised Partners: Chris Murray (Procurement), Liz Maguire (Procurement), Simon Chamberlain (Construction) and Constanze Moorhouse (Employment), supported by a wider team of specialists and associates. Eversheds Sutherland advised on all elements of the transaction, in close collaboration with TfL’s in-house legal team, including commercial, procurement, construction, employment, pensions, data privacy and tax. Kelly Holmes, Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “We’re delighted to have advised and supported TfL on this prestigious project, working in partnership with TfL’s Commercial and Legal teams. It was a fantastic, collaborative team effort, which drew on a significant range of legal capabilities, commercial acumen, insights and experience to deliver two contracts that will enhance – through the use of data and digitalisation, as well as a capital investment programme – TfL’s lucrative advertising estate, as well as generating a vital source of revenue for TfL to reinvest into its services.” Chris Reader, Head of Commercial Media, Transport for London, commented: “We were pleased to work with Eversheds Sutherland on our recent advertising contract. Their recent handling of this strategically complex transaction aided the successful completion of this tender, which will be an important source of revenue to the business.” Latest InsightsLatest News
