Tiago Macaia Martins joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2025 as a Principal Associate. He is a co-head of the Data Privacy Security and Technology Department, focusing on Data Privacy, Disruptive Technology, and Technology Transactions and Sourcing.
Tiago has over 10 years of experience, both in Portugal and abroad, including 6 years in the UK. He worked with major clients from the Tech, Banking, Health, and Retail sectors, among others, both in private practice and as in-house counsel.
His primary focus has been on regulatory and compliance matters concerning data protection and privacy. For example, he has extensive experience managing regulatory complaints and similar contentious matters, as well as advising on complex cross-border transactions, multi-jurisdictional compliance programs, and data governance strategies.
Prior to becoming a Principal Associate at Eversheds Sutherland, Tiago worked as in-house counsel for a major video game company.
