Michael Pötzi has been with Eversheds Sutherland in Zurich since January 2023, initially as an Associate and, since January 2025, as a Senior Associate.
He advises domestic and international clients, with a particular focus on employment law, international arbitration, restructuring and insolvency, and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Michael Pötzi worked as a legal counsel at a legal expenses insurance company. He also served as a bankruptcy administrator at the Thurgau Cantonal Bankruptcy Office and as an enforcement officer at the Arbon district Debt Enforcement Office.
He was admitted to the bar in the Canton of Thurgau in July 2022 and is also admitted as a public notary in the Canton of Thurgau.

Michael Pötzi is a member of the Zurich Bar Association (ZAV) and the Swiss Bar Association (SAV).
Michael Pötzi studied Business Law at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur (B.Sc. 2016, with a focus on financial markets law and employment law) and subsequently obtained his Master of Law (MLaw) from the University of Lucerne in 2019. He also completed a Summer School at Corvinus University Budapest in 2015.
