Karina’s practice encompasses the tax aspects of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and corporate restructurings. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to help clients navigate the tax implications of their business objectives and structure transactions in a tax-efficient manner.
Prior to joining the firm, Karina interned with Eversheds Sutherland during her final semester at Georgetown University Law Center, where she earned her LL.M. in Taxation. During her time at South Texas College of Law Houston, she served as Managing Editor of Currents: Journal of International Economic Law and worked as a research assistant for her federal income tax professor, contributing to the 2024 Federal Income Taxation of Individuals treatise. Karina also gained hands-on experience representing low-income taxpayers through her law school’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic and Volunteer Assistance clinic, where she assisted individuals with IRS disputes and tax return preparation.
Karina is barred in Texas and is applying for D.C. licensure.
