Matthäus Weinfurtner is a Senior Associate in the Regulatory & Investigations practice in our Munich office.
His practice focuses on advising clients in the areas of product liability and product compliance. This includes the implementation of European standards, fulfilment of pre- and post-marketing obligations for manufacturers, importers and distributors of B2B/B2C products, and liability prevention.
Matthäus also supports businesses with the preparation of product recall and incident management plans and associated training, so businesses can be well prepared to prevent an incident arising or limiting any brand damage.
Additionally, Matthäus also advises on several insurance matters and has experience in internal investigations. Besides his practical experience, he is also trained as a certified business mediator.
Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Matthäus worked in the litigation practice group of an internationally law firm in Munich.

- supporting a globally operating tow bar system manufacturer in the defence of claims exceeding multiple millions arising from a pan-European OEM recall, while coordinating engagement with regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions and liaising closely with US and German insurers
