In this latest edition, we spotlight key regulatory developments across global markets, including:
  • EU: Member States are progressing implementation of AIFMD II, while ESMA is advancing plans for a single, integrated fund reporting system designed to streamline supervisory data collection, reduce duplication and harmonise reporting standards across UCITS and AIFs.
  • UK: Authorities are reforming the money market funds regime while advancing fund tokenisation, including new rules for distributed ledger technology, on-chain recordkeeping and direct-to-fund investment models.
  • Guernsey: Initiatives include the launch of a Fund Foundry programme for emerging managers, development of an innovation sandbox and ongoing discussions on corporate tax reform and long-term sector strategy.
  • Canada: Regulators are advancing a wide-ranging programme of reforms covering trading rules, investor protection, dealer obligations, insider reporting and continuing education requirements.
  • Hong Kong: A new framework enables secondary trading of tokenised fund units on licensed platforms, expanding earlier rules that permitted primary issuance and redemption.
