In out recent webinar on Thursday 12 February 2026, we explored how the Eu Data Act is influencing commercial negotiations, data governance and supplier relationships during its first months of implementation.

Key lessons from the speakers included:

  • The Act is driving organisational change beyond legal compliance, requiring cross functional coordination.
  • Transparency now begins with detailed data mapping and clear identification of data holders.
  • Service switching remains challenging in practice, and contractual alignment across vendors is still evolving.
  • The digital omnibus will further reshape the regulatory landscape, with important changes to GDPR definitions, trade secrets and public sector access.
  • Enforcement will be fragmented across the EU, with authorities preparing for expanded oversight.
